Our names are Conner and Parker Coffin and we travel the world as professional surfers with our brother from another mother Ryan Perry documenting our adventures. 26 Anderson Re-power : Grinding Fiberglass... A lot of it!
I've heard nothing but horror stories about grinding fiberglass, but that's the stage we're at so it was time to jump in!!
With the boat down at Jeff Hull's yard in Ventura in a killer grind bay, we were set up to go to town. I had some guidance from my friend Trent who built a 32x10 radon (our boat is his families old boat) as well as Mason down at Jeff's yard (huge thanks to Jeff and his crew for having us)!
The goal is to clean up everything behind the live well bulk head and get it prepped to lay down new cloth, stringers, etc... there was so much tabbing around the stringers to grind down to get it semi even.

Had no idea that this much had to be done. So every time this basic design with outboards, someone did all this to the inside structure?
No, we are converting our boat from twin diesel engines with outdrives to a single diesel with a v drive transmission. adding two feet gives us more room to engineer the correct angle for the shaft angle while not having the whole boat be an engine. box... For outboards it is pretty typical to add a bracket off of the transom to mount the engines to, but there are different ways to go about it.

You didn't leave any of the transom glass to bond to? That can be very problematic. If you glass to the bottom of the hull and don't get a perfect bond the glass can lift and peel from the water pressure while moving forward. Not trying to be an ass, just saying...
Jeff Hull is one of the best fiberglass/ boat builders on the west coast of California. I’m sure he coached Conner what to do and remove before he handed him a sawzall. The boys are in good hands…
yeah man! We laid up the glass running up the inside of the hull... and we built and cored a whole new transom at the end of the extension. laid it all up at one time. we used some door skin on the underside and then ground down the existing hull side to create a return and glassed that seem with Bi Ax.

Was that an old urchin boat? Compressor, volume tank and davit?
yes! I talk about the history of the boat in the first video I made if ya want to listen... but yeah, was an abalone then urchin boat.

were u able to have state pay for repower?? i heard that california will pay to re-power your boat...think you have to have commercial license . hope u used state program u could use thousands saved to take more trips to bring more content of u and your bro shredding!!!

I talk about the fins in the video! they're JS large all fiberglass. I like them in small wave boards. I usually ride our coffin brother's fin
